High quality Honda motorbike

Within the 150cc range, the Honda Winner easily has the best build quality out of our motorbikes. Note that the Honda Winner is a fully manual motorbike, not an automatic. Rock solid balance makes this motorbike feel like it is gliding through the wind, and drivers can find themselves creeping into the 90’s without even realizing it.

Being a Honda – this is the only 150cc manual motorbike we can provide a guarantee of a hassle free holiday with minimum maintenance or breakdown inconveniences. It can be serviced in local Honda Head mechanic shops and has tubless tires that are easy to repair.

The Winner is not a big motorbike and the seat slopes forward. People often book it over the Honda XR 150 due to being fixable in local shops. However, when they arrive at Tigit and test out the seat, they often change to the XR 150.

You are exchanging reliability for comfort with the Winner, in general it is not a comfortable motorbike!

Who the Honda Winner 150 is for

The Winner is for the driver who wants a manual motorbike close to the impossibility of anything disastrous going wrong. The Honda XR 150cc is Tigit’s most common and popular manual motorbike, but for those who just want a motorbike that works, then the Honda Winner is the one to get.
Due to the boxes it is also useful for people with camera gear.

Givi boxes on the Honda Winner

Tigit equips the Honda Winner with 22L plastic Givi boxes.

  1. Is the “price to buy” option a true sale of a brand new bike with a registration card that will have my name on it or is it actually a rental with a big deposit and I get to keep my passport?

If the “price to buy” option is actually a rental, what happens if the bike is stolen during the trip…who is liable?

Can I, with U.S.A Passport, legally (import/export) in-to and out-of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia with a Vietnam plated and registered bike? Same question if it is a Vietnam plated and registered bike rented from your company.

I just read my first ride report from a traveler on a motorcycle and it seems like getting into and out of some of these countries is dependent on the particular border crossing or the personality of the border agent. Is that correct? If yes, is their an “un-official” guide somewhere that tells you how to accomplish these crossing legally?

    1. It is a rental with a big deposit and you get to keep your passport.
On the city section of the website we have some bikes for permanent sale with no buyback. The purchase price is considerably cheaper.

If the bike is stolen then there is no buyback. You lose your money. No insurance in Vietnam. This should not happen.

A Vietnamese bike can go into all the countries.
All our customers have succeeded with this.

However the internet says Thailand is a no, and we know that Cambodia — > Loas is also supposed to be difficult. (again our customers have succeeded, but there are no facts here)
With a Vietnamese bike you can always come back into Vietnam. If you successfully leave Vietnam, there is always a way back in.

For Vietnam to Laos then yes, there is only one border near Hanoi that is possible.
For Vietnam to Cambodia all major borders work.

For Cambodia to Thailand the internet suggests no. Our customers never fail.

For Cambodia to Laos or Laos to Cambodia. The internet says no, our customers never fail.

Many backpackers write blogs without a clue what they are talking about. Some do it on Chinese Honda Wins where the paperwork is often fake or not matching the bike.
In general following blogs online is a guideline at best.

I know the stories you are talking about.
Our customers have never had problems with border crossings…. but because of these online blogs and stories I can’t put this out as a “fact”. If I turn out to be wrong one day then it makes us responsible for a ruined holiday.
Yes it is possible, but do it at your own risk 🙂

Due to the gray areas there is no unofficial guide.

  2. Ideally, We are interested in renting three Honda Winners in Hanoi in early February and then dropping them off in Danang a few weeks later. Do you provide this one way rentals?

How much is it to rent three winners in Saigon for three weeks? We would rent and return the bikes in Saigon.

    1. This is possible and an email has been sent with more information. Need to be careful of TET holiday where we, and the rest of the country will stop working. 27th Jan – 5th Feb.

  3. Hi.
Is the Honda Winner suitable for 2 small people ( 70kg and 63kg) with a small bag each, to travel around north & south Vietnam ?
Pick up in Hanoi & drop off in Ho Chi Min. (about 30 days)

    1. The Honda XR is the most comfortable for two people due to the large frame.

The Winner is the best for two out of the smaller local manual motorbikes. It has better suspension than the Exciter and Raider.

  4. Hi Ive now booked our flights for 3 November until 30 November. we will require two Honda Winners for that time, with Givi racks on each bike. If you could advise me on how to book as you told me there would be a deposit. I am unable to see the details on your website. Many Thanks Jack + Linda

    1. Hi Jack
We seem to be having conversations on phone / email and now here ?

I have sent some emails about how to book, but not had a reply.
Will send another email and hope you get it .
      See you soon
      Jon
