Ho Chi Minh to Cat Tien

This is the shortest drive out of Ho Chi Minh and probably the most pleasant. It doesn’t take long to get to the cit of Bin Hoa, where we can turn off the main highways and onto the river of the DT 768. From here it is smooth sailing to Cat Tien and we can now properly consider outselves out of Ho Chi Minh on a relatively pleasant little road. This route is around 4/5 hours, so if we want to throw in extra driving we can add in the weird abandoned tunnels in Cat Tien National park.

Experienced off-road riders can attempt the DT761 through Cat Tien, but we highly recommend against this unless really knowing how to drive. It is difficult.

Cat Tien National park and the green bamboo lodge is a lovely place to stay.

Cat Tien to Dalat

The DT 725 is a stunning drive. Keen drivers can attempt to throw in “Dambri waterfall”, but most people should be aiming to leave Cat Tien early with the hope of enough time to do Elephant waterfall on the way into Dalat. This is a full and wonderful day of driving on spectacular meandering mountain roads.

Ho Chi Minh to Lagi

Not the most pleasant of drive and around 5 hours of Highway driving. Lagi and Coco beach camp is a wonderful little beach resort which sets us up nicely to get the first real taster of Vietnam’s stunning coastline.

Lagi to Dalat via Bao loc and the QL55B

The QL55B is often a favorite road in the entire country for travelers. An amazing drive, which sets us up for a highway drive into Dalat where we can find Bo Bla Waterfall, Gougah Watefall, Lien Khuong Waterfall, Prenn Waterfall and Datanla Waterfall all on route without any detours into Dalat.

Take your pick of waterfalls whilst throwing the amazing QL55b in at the start of the journey!

Mui Ne to Dalat via the QL28B

A short drive of 4/5 hours along the amazing QL28B. This is a calm day and easy day. Ho Chi Ming to Lagi, Lagi to Mui Ne, Mui Ne to Dalat is definitely the gentle and easy way to get from Ho Chi Minh to Dalat by breaking the drives into small pieces. For the casual traveler, this is probably a great option!

The ride is casual enough to easily throw in several waterfalls on route. Gougah Watefall, Lien Khuong Waterfall, Prenn Waterfall and Datanla Waterfall.

Mui Ne to Dalat via Phan Rang

Mui Ne to Dalat via Phan Rang throws in the best coastal drives that Vietnam has to offer. This really is a stunning drive with roads going right out onto the sea front. A big drive that can be broken into smaller sections by stopping resorts along this coast or Phan Rang itself.
For the coastal drivers out there, this is the route for you!
