Who can rent the Yamaha WR 155R
Expats living and working in Hanoi can rent the Yamaha WR 155 for offroad trips, or lessons with Dirt Town Academy. We charge 350,000vnd if you want to spend a few hours in the afternoon at Dirt Town practicing.
We are flexible to pickup and return times, for example if you wish to ride Soc Son on Saturday, you may pickup Friday afternoon free of charge. Tigit also does not request a deposit if you know the company, however if you are a first time renter we might ask for a passport.
This motorbike is not for tourists to rent. Tourists can use this motorbike for fully guided motorbike tours or lessons at Dirt Town Academy. Please email about lessons if interested! If an instructor approves your riding, we may let you rent it for rides, but really you need a guide for Vietnam’s trails!

The Yamaha WR 155R
There is a Honda XR 150, a CRF 150L, and a Yamaha WR 155R. It is very hard to explain, but the Yamaha WR 155R is a real motorbike, and the other two are toys.
The power-to-weight ratio is excellent, and the suspension operates similarly to an Enduro motorbike.
Tigit Jon’s passion is offroading, and he has spent a lot of time pondering what model of motorbike to invest in for offroad tours and offroad training. Finally, in 2024, all of Tigit’s Honda CRF 250L motorbikes were sold, and the company invested in a fleet of Yamaha WR 155R.
It is not a KTM, but it is the next best thing
For new to intermediate riders, the WR 155 has the suspension of a full-blown real dirt bike. For advanced KTM Enduro riders, this is the next best thing, and Tigit Jon has no shame putting his off-road buddies onto these motorbikes. It is a seriously good machine, and all the Tigit offroad guides and teachers love it.
If you are thinking about a CRF 300L or bigger
If you are looking for a CRF 300l, Suzuki DRZ 400 or a Kawasaki KLX 250 or similar, then stop looking now. The Yamaha WR 155 crushes its bigger dual sport rivals in all departments; there is no contest here. It is in the subtlety of weight distribution, power-to-weight ratio, and, most importantly, suspension and frame.
Tigit Jon spends a lot of time trying to make videos and content, explaining to the customer that “CC” is just a number; it doesn’t mean much in real life!
Tubliss tires and a real offroad setup
Tigit invests in Tubliss tires for dropping to “0 PSI” during difficult conditions such as slippery clay. We have Dunlop MX tires installed, motocross handlebars that don’t break when you crash, and handguards that also don’t break.
Our fleet is designed for off-road, crashes, and some seriously difficult trails beyond the skillset of nearly every client coming through Tigit.
The bike can do it; the only question is whether you can!
Handle all terrain in Vietnam apart from two locations
In Tigit Jon’s opinion, the Yamaha WR 155 has the power and suspension to deal with all terrain in Vietnam apart from two locations. The first is Lang Son, and the second is Mui Ne dunes. You need a two-stroke Enduro bike for these two locations, not a four-stroke or a 155cc.
Both locations are not found on any motorbike tour in Vietnam, and both locations are beyond the capabilities of any dual sport bike like a CRF 300L.
In conclusion, from your perspective, there is no limit to what this motorbike can do. Don’t ask if “155cc” is enough, because it is!
For beginner to serious offroad people
If you want to get into the dirt bike world and experience remote terrain in Vietnam, then this is the motorbike to rent. If you are an experienced rider who maybe hits trails in places like Romania, and you can’t find a KTM 2-stroke motorbike in Vietnam, then take our word that this Yamaha WR 155 is the next best thing.
