The XR is the most comfortable 150cc motorbike

The Honda XR 150cc is a dual-sport designed to be both on the road and off the road! Within the 150cc category, it is the most comfortable motorbike for one or two riders. It is small compared to the western world of motorbikes. However, this dual-sport motorbike is a big vehicle for Vietnam, and it will attract attention from the locals.

Adventure driving on the Honda XR 150

Vietnam is mostly tarmac roads, but often at times the terrain can turn into gravel and mud tracks. The XR is light enough to tackle any terrain, and there is no situation where you would be caught off guard.

The Honda XR is unsupported by Honda

The XR 150cc falls into the range of “unsupported” motorbikes within Vietnamese mechanics. This means that Honda does not officially service the motorbike or stock the parts. Tigit has these motorbikes on a mass scale, and we have the parts. However, on occasion, we may need to send a part to your location. Simple things like inner-tubes are not stocked throughout Vietnamese mechanics, which means drivers must add them to their luggage load.

Adventure seekers vs New drivers on the Honda XR

Without the babysitting of Honda Service centers at Tigits/Clients disposal, small problems can lead to big problems with inexperienced riders. Overall this is an incredibly reliable and easy motorbike to operate. However, it does not have the same ease of use as the locally supported motorbikes such as the Honda Winner 150cc.

Tires Tigit uses on the Honda XR

Back tire that Tigit mostly uses

The Honda XR 150L is equipped with dual-sport tires. We consider them 80% road with 20% offroad.

The Honda XR 150cc Rack

The Honda XR rack can support an 82L Enduristan bag without the extension rack. The extension rack is strapped down with bungees and adds an additional platform. Bags can be mounted sideways or lengthways. Overall for the size of the motorbike, there is a huge amount of space for luggage.

  1. Hi there, I will arrive in HCMC on January 26th 2017 with five other friends. We want to rent a bike each for approximately 3 weeks from 27th January to 15th February, finally leaving the bikes in Hanoi. Will you have bikes available and if so for how much this group booking?

    1. The total rent works out as $440 per bike after transport.
We currently do not do group discounts as I believe we are the cheapest “big bike” company out there already. Also have the best online reputation 🙂

Buy for $3000 and buyback for $2600
      Or $500 and a passport
$100 and passport back at the end.

An email has been sent with more information.
Sorry for the late reply, for some reason messages coming from this page were not getting through to me.

  2. Hi I’m looking at renting an X-ray 150 on the 17/12/16
For 10 days how much will it cost and is there a replacement bike if it breaks down

    1. Depends where you are going. Our prices are mostly set by start and stop destination and not timings. All to confirm we are looking at the XR.

  3. Heya,
Looking to arrive in Saigon on the 1st of December, do you know whether you may have any XR’s available to rent at that time?

    Thanks!

    1. To deposit and have a bike waiting is $100.
Sent an email with more information.
Without a deposit then we consider it a walk-by. This is luck of the draw as to if we randomly have a bike sitting in the garage. With the bigger bikes they are normally on the road.

  4. Hi, is this the best bike for 2 average sized adults with gear?

Also, what would be the cost for a 7 day rental from Danang to Hanoi? Or do you only do a minimum of 10 days?

Thank you for your help! I won’t be taking this trip until March.

    1. Yes for comfort the XR is the best choice.
Largest frame size and the seat is quite good to.

We do rentals in packets as certain destinations require sending bikes around and short rentals are not worth the effort / time ratio of motorbikes sitting on trains.
The rent works out as $274 due to sending bikes to Danang and from Hanoi back to HCM. Not the most economical way of doing it, but it does work.

Probably not helpful for your holiday, but as we expand we do hope to remove these train fees from as many destinations as possible.
