A one hour class in Ho Chi Minh with a CBT certified instructor in a quiet area of Ho Chi Minh. Beginners up to advanced.
Motorbike lessons from CBT certified instructor
An important part of enjoying riding a motorbike from Tigit is doing so safely. It is often overlooked aspect in the bike rental market, particularly in S.E. Asia. As part of our comprehensive service, we also offer rider training, we tailor our training to the individual rider. Taking into account any existing motorcycle skills, we build on this and provide targeted training to get you on the road swiftly and safely.
During your training you will be taught all aspects of good safe riding practice, whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced rider who wants to know how to ride safely here in Vietnam, which is a vastly different experience than even the most proficient riders will have seen.
Many tourists and expats alike tend to shy away from riding a proper manual motorbike, in favour of mopeds and scooters, this is generally because of lack of knowledge, experience, skill and confidence. However, once you are a proficient rider on a full-size manual you will quickly discover that it is the only choice when touring and exploring.
Our short courses, (generally an hour is sufficient even for beginners) are all about teaching you the skills needed to ride a moped or full-sized motorbike safely and competently. The focus is on safety and obtaining a level of competency that you can build upon when riding alone. You will also be taught how to handle the machine in the often-chaotic traffic conditions found here, making you a better and ultimately a safer rider. Don’t forget, riding safely means you are also taking care of your passenger!
Our training has been adapted from the CBT Compulsory Basic Training in the UK, which will give you the skills to ride safely and effectively here in Vietnam, and allow you to get the maximum enjoyment from riding around this beautiful and interesting country.
We can provide training sessions on a one-to-one basis or for small groups, ideally no more than three people, focusing on quality not quantity.
There is no specific pass or fail test, we just want our customers to get the most out of their riding experience.
Our instructor is from the United Kingdom, he is a highly experienced road rider of over 30 years, has trained hundreds of students at home in Britain and here in HCMC, and is also an experienced track coach. You will learn everything you need to know, but more importantly, you will understand ‘Why’, rather than just because your instructor has told you so.
As with everything else we do, we pride ourselves on our high standards and offering exceptional service and value for money.
We have many customers who have years of experience riding motorcycles in their home country, who find that with just one session with Tigit teaches them a few things they have never had to encounter back home, giving them the additional confidence and knowledge to ride in Vietnam.
Length of the class
The classes are 1 hour long, which is enough for most people. It is common for people to book multiple lessons over several weeks.
We can teach on semi-automatics, automatics and manual motorbikes.
The lessons are based in Sala in a very quite area with nearly no traffic.
Who this tour is for
Our instructor can teach from beginners to high-level intermediates. He spends time down at Ho Chi Minh race tracks, so when you are ready he can even take you off to the races.
For most people, a short course to get comfortable navigating Vietnam’s chaotic traffic is all that is needed.
Lessons are all-inclusive at $30 an hour. You will be given a bike and an instructor. One lesson is enough to get going, but many people book more.
Please note, this does not cover damages to the motorbike such as broken brake or clutch levers.
Tigit guides are local enduro enthusiasts. English is average at best. Passion lies in driving and motorbikes. A tour is a way to escape the Tigit office and be out there on the roads. Be assured they are enjoying the trip just as much as you are.
Tigit guides are selected based on their motorbike skills, we hope, that they have enough skills to get both themselves and you out of the mud!
