Probably the best road from HCM – Hanoi.
A truly spectacular drive through remote mountain regions.
NO GAS STATIONS – Bring extra petrol / gas with you( 3 LITERS).
Remember to leave early and don’t leave anything to chance. You do not want to be stuck in the dark out there.
Arriving in Phong Nha national park (after a very long and straight peice of road) a cross road will be found with some touristy looking signs.
Both straight and right are ok! But we recommended straight (longer on the map but easier to drive).
Head for Easy Tiger Hostel to locate yourself in the backpacker area.
Phong Nha
Phong Nha national park is where the worlds largest cave was recently discovered “Hang son Doong”.
A place of natural beauty that is quickly becoming a tourist hot spot.
New caving tours are regularly being created and it may be a place worth investigating to do some longer and more extreme caving / hiking tours.
